[Conventional doctors have] been limited by a focus on pathology, on what is missing or diseased, instead of seeing and galvanizing all that is right, special, and great within each individual human life – within your life. As a result, we routinely commit errors, even as we seek to heal. We treat the disease instead of the person, missing the larger story of the patient’s life, which is rife with clues and revelations about how best to guide them toward health. We focus on symptoms instead of root causes, prescribing medications that often simply mask the symptoms instead of attempting the longer, harder work of building immunity and vitality. We insist on sorting illnesses into those rooted in either the mind or the body instead of understanding and embracing the connection between them, where most of our illnesses reside.

Let’s Assemble Your Integrative Team!

Making sense of your chronic condition and finding the right practitioner can be a daunting journey! And for many, it can feel like an endless pursuit accompanied with frustration, isolation and hopelessness. While conventional American medicine can be life saving for acute issues, it is not necessarily the best fit for those living with chronic conditions. We are more than a cluster of symptoms. Becoming a Certified Integrative Mental Health Practitioner (CIMHP) has broadened my lens to assist clients in further understanding their mental health story and assembling the right team of providers to treat root causes. This multifaceted approach effectively addresses clients’ mental and physical needs in a much more promising way than medication alone.

An Integrative Medicine Consultation is generally a 60-90 minute meeting with me. It is an extensive interview that explores your entire story from start to finish: current health information, family’s social history, health history, lifestyle, family medical history, current and historical dietary habits, trauma/accident history, medication/supplementation use, history of current symptoms and relationship to digestion and food. By the end of our interview you will have clearer ideas regarding root cause of current issues and you will be connected to additional specialists in pain management, nervous system regulation, brain health, gut health and integrative medicine. From here we will begin to build your Chicago team of providers who will work with you as you navigate your mental health, pain, and/or chronic disease. Meetings with me can extend after the initial meeting (with TRE and/or PEMF), however they don’t necessarily have to. It all depends on your needs and what you feel is best for you.

Neely’s recommendations of integrative practices for body, mind, and spirit, have never let me down, and have only led to healing and growth. I have always known Neely to be an encouraging and positive force, with whom I trust completely as a trainer and leader.

I witness clients’ success when they are open to discovering the emerging story that accompanies their chronic condition and when they are receptive to working with a multidisciplinary team that addresses the whole self - the physical, mental/emotional and spiritual. I look forward to helping you build your team of specialists and watching you evolve!
